The Vacancy

Central Support Service at Newcastle College is looking to recruit a SEND Advisor to be part of the SEND Support Team. The role will involve supporting learners who have Mental Health and Wellbeing support needs.

The role will involve managing a caseload of allocated learners to ensure their learning needs are met through carrying out an assessment of learning support needs, developing support plans and working with curriculum and support colleagues to implement support strategies and reasonable adjustments.

The ideal candidate must have Level 2 English and Maths and have experience of supporting and assessing a wide range of SEND learners (including those who have mental health and wellbeing difficulties) in an educational setting or similar. It is essential that you have knowledge of the SEND code of practice including the EHCP process and the Preparing for Adulthood Agenda. An understanding of FE funding, inspection and quality frameworks is desirable but not essential.
