We are looking for a People Development Manager to enable our fantastic colleagues to move into a new era of knowledge, skills, and innovation. In this pivotal role, you'll have the chance to help shape the learning agenda, inspire a culture of continuous growth and performance management, and make a lasting impact on our people and our organisation by creating career line of sight pathways and competency frameworks.

Overview:

You will work within People Development function managing a team of development specialists in the areas of people development and core business systems. You will lead a significant portfolio of learning initiatives and engage with a range of strategic projects. With experience in getting the best out colleagues and a passion for development you will support the Head of Talent, Learning and Development on an exciting journey to deliver our ambitious Velocity strategy.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with employees, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills: You will be responsible for leading and developing teams of diverse individuals across both People and Systems specialties.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities: You must be able to think strategically and creatively to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset: You must be able to analyse data and identify trends to develop and improve training programs continually.
  • Ability to manage competing demands: You must be adept at prioritising and managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on achieving organisational objectives.
  • Experience of implementing career pathways and competency frameworks: You will have designed and implemented career pathways and supporting competency frameworks across a diverse range of business functions. Demonstrating a clear understanding of cross function core skills to enable workforce mobility.
  • Experience of performance management processes and procedures: You will be able to demonstrate a modern approach to performance management and how this can be embedded successfully to become part of cultural DNA.
  • Experience of both people development and systems training: You will need experience of managing teams who provide a leadership and management focused development solutions, as well as process and IT business core systems. A thorough understanding of eLearning design and implementation to create fully engaging blended programmes and single courses as required.
  • Experience of DEI initiatives: You will have experience of generating and embedding initiatives to help address organisational DEI challenges.
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate as a trusted advisor to colleagues, providing an objective view and challenge, articulating business needs and benefits.
  • Act as a highly skilled facilitator, or as a topic specialist in leadership and management, employing a range of advanced tools and techniques to support people development.
  • Support the Head of Talent, Learning and Development in driving change through digital technology - implementing and working with leading-edge technology to transform ways of working and deliver efficiencies and return on investment.
  • Provide partnering support, challenge and development advice within the business and manage the continuous improvement of people development interventions.
  • Scheduling and administration for development activities, including pre and post-course activities, room bookings etc.
