What is the job role?

As our Operational Support Officer you will be part of our Family Valued Team and Participation Team, providing daily administrative support for both.

Family Valued launched in Coventry in April 2021, as part of the Department for Education’s Strengthening Families, Protecting Children Programme. The aim of Coventry Family Valued is to embed a culture of relational and restorative practice, working ‘with’ families, rather than doing ‘to’ or ‘for’ them. The Family Valued Team are instrumental in supporting this work to progress across Children’s Services and the partnership.

There are three-spires of Coventry Family Valued which are key to how we work ‘with’ children, young people and their families. These are:

  • Child Friendly Cov
  • Family-Led Decision Making
  • Relational Practice

Child Friendly Cov is our commitment as a whole-city to making Coventry the best city in the UK for children and young people to live and grow-up in. Within Children’s Services, the Participation Team co-ordinate Child Friendly Cov activities and events, working with teams across Children’s Services, the partnership and local businesses.

As our Operational Support Officer, your key tasks will be: 

  • Dealing with enquiries and making enquiries on behalf of the team
  • Data entry
  • Minute-taking
  • Finance
  • Managing bookings for workshops and events
  • General office duties
  • Any other administrative duties required

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
