Queen Elizabeth's School is looking for a Head of Science to join our school.

Actual Salary £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (MPS 1 to UPS 3)

TLR 1.2, £11,411 per annum.

The role is offered on a full time and permanent basis.

Start Date September 2024

Are you a passionate and innovative educator with expertise in Science? We are seeking an outstanding individual to take on the role of Head of Faculty. If you are ready to lead by example, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and inspire both students and colleagues, we want to hear from you.

Heads of Faculty have accountability for the Quality of Education within the faculty. This includes professional leadership and management to secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and high standards of learning and achievement for all students.

The Post includes:

  • Leading an exceptional and thriving Science department
  • Leading to develop further the quality of teaching and learning
  • Managing the development of the Science Faculty
  • Working with senior and middle managers towards whole school improvements

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Set high expectations for the Quality of Education within the faculty.
  • Establish and implement faculty improvement plans which focus on development and whole school aims
  • Manage the work of Heads of Biology, Chemistry and Physics in line with faculty improvement priorities.
  • Effectively monitor and evaluate the Quality of Education through quality assurance activities in line with the school QA processes.

Ideally, we would like to appoint someone who has previous experience of

  • Subject leadership within a secondary setting or other relevant leadership experience, with ability to show whole school improvement.
  • Experience of successful teaching Science in the following key stages: KS3, KS4 and KS5
