So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for an Asset Surveyor working within the Strategy & Sustainability team. It is a great time to be joining as we continue building our own internal surveying team. We are looking for a self-motivated multidisciplinary surveyor who can carry out not only traditional stock condition surveys but also estate audits, HHSRS inspections and energy efficiency assessments.

What will my working week look like? 

The role will involve working from home, the office and predominantly out on site. Every day can be different and good planning is essential in order to maximise your time on site.

You will live within a reasonable travel distance to cover our portfolio and within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of Your Housing Groups annual stock condition programme and the validation of the forthcoming years investment programme.

You will also be expected to undertake other surveys such as estate audits, balcony surveys, energy efficiency assessments and Energy Performance Certificates.

To be a successful Asset Surveyor, here at YHG, you will have….

  • Wide experience of carrying out a range of building surveys and assessments including stock condition, Decent Homes, HHSRS and energy efficiency assessments
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety & compliance issues in relation to building services and construction
  • Educated to A level standard or level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4) equivalent and/or relevant technical qualification or experience

Ideally you will have ….

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply technical knowledge to resolve practical issues
  • Clear and articulate communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Excellent relationship building skills

This role is really suited to someone who likes to work with customers, front facing and at a fast pace, adapting your approach to suit individual customer needs and be great at time management.
