Hours: Full Time - 45 hours per week
Please note: Due to our location and very limited public transport, this role is ideally suited to a candidate who can commute to/from the hotel via their own vehicle.
Our Sommeliers are free from the traditional image of wine service. As part of our food and beverage team our Sommeliers play an important role within our restaurant and bar service. We offer an extensive wine list to our guests, from wines across the world, local British produce to our very own PIG offering! We love wine so much, our latest additional to our group, THE PIG in the South Down has its very own vineyard!
As Assistant Head Sommelier you will grow your knowledge of wines whilst working on the floor during our vibrant restaurant service. On a day to day basis, you will support our Head Sommelier with supplier communication and manage our traditional underground cellar. You will Interact with guests, pair wines and provide recommendations to ensure a memorable dining experience.
You will have the opportunity to enrol in trainings and attend industry specific events to build your knowledge of local and international brands.
Experience in a similar role is preferred, plus WSET or equivalent qualifications.
