We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic SAP Integration Developer to join our IT team based in Solihull, West Midlands. Flexible/Hybrid working available. 

The role is responsible for Tarmac’s SAP Integration Suite / SAP Process Orchestration integrations and landscape.

As a recognised SAP Integration Suite developer/subject matter expert, you'll apply your specialist skills to development and IT support activities, including SAP PO development and monitoring

You'll work effectively with other developers and analysts and apply your demonstrable technical & systems knowledge to understanding business requirements and translate them into high quality technical specifications, that lead to exemplary business solution delivery

In addition, you'll promote and adhere to corporate development standards

In this role you'll:
  • Act as an SAP Integration Suite Developer/subject matter expert for business change projects and enhancements
  • Oversee the daily monitoring of messages, mapping and communications channels in the SAP PO and SAP Integration Suite environments
  • Provide expertise in Integration Suite/PO archiving and executing housekeeping routines​
  • Investigate incidents and identify and mobilise the system​​
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Control processes and procedures
  • Coordinate with other teams if issues require multiple team involvement
  • Be responsible for handling incidents and tickets causing service disruption in the SAP Integration Suite/PO landscape​
  • Understand and promote current and future technology opportunities to improve our operational efficiency​
  • Ensure that new integrations, connecting systems and certificates are correctly set-up​
  • Update and install new certificates​
  • Maintain a healthy and running SAP Integration Suite/PO system​
  • Stop and Start channels during planned downtimes
  • Build effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance to all policies and have a relentless determination to minimise the risk of defects and production outages
  • Create high quality technical specifications to ensure that right-first-time developments are delivered
  • Continuously improve development processes and standards
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Control processes and procedures
The Ideal Candidate

Experience & qualifications

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • An expert knowledge of SAP Integration Suite  
  • Experience with XSLT, Groovy script, or Graphical Mapping
  • Experience in creating ABAP Proxies and RFC debugging.
  • Experience in the configuration and support of IDOC, RFC, JDBC, File, Proxy, SOAP, HTTP, REST adapters
  • Experience of SAP API Management
  • Experience of SAP Open Connectors
  • A solid knowledge and hands on experience of integrations
  • Experience of managing large-scale changes across a complex & dynamic SAP System Landscape
  • Experience in interfacing SAP with 3rd party systems
  • Full lifecycle implementation experience of at least 3 projects from design through to support
  • Experience of structured systems development and project management methodologies
  • Experience of being an Integration requirement gathering workshop lead
  • A proven ability and aptitude to explore and learn new technologies released by SAP
  • Excellent presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • To provide input to and lead the Tarmac API Strategy 
  • To be SAP certified 
  • Both SAP BPM and Process Modelling experience with BPMN 
  • A working knowledge of B2B and EDI standards 
  • Knowledge of SAP Gateway and OData 
  • Java J2EE development experience
  • JavaScript experience
It is also desirable that you’ll have:
  • A degree in Computer Science, software development or similar qualification 
  • SAP ABAP knowledge
  • SAP Functional Knowledge of various SAP modules e.g. FI, MM, SD
  • ITIL Certification/awareness
