We are looking for a Professional Safeguarding and Wellbeing Lead to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green. 

This role will be a full time, 37.5 hour per week position working Monday to Friday.

Cygnet Hospital Godden Green:

Cygnet Hospital Godden Green provides specialist acute and PICU services for women. The hospital is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Kent Weald, near Sevenoaks. Its location, in over an acre of its own grounds, helps the hospital provide a calm and therapeutic environment.

The Role:

The purpose of this role is to undertake the lead specialist role for safeguarding adults with care and support needs, supporting the Hospital Manager in ensuring all adults within our care are safeguarded in line with relevant legislation, policy and procedure.

Key tasks:

  • Be a source of specialist advice and expertise on all safeguarding adult matters to all staff at the point of need across the Hospital.
  • Promote good practice and effective communication within the Hospital and all agencies on all matters relating to safeguarding adults who have care and support needs.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the management of safeguarding referrals within the Hospital using our recognised policies and procedures.
  • Co-ordinate and support the Hospitals internal case reviews including Individual Management Reviews where appropriate.
  • Adhere to our systems, policies and procedures to safeguard adults with care and support needs.
  • Ensure there are audits to monitor the application of agreed safeguarding adults’ standards.
  • Ensure robust data collection systems are in place.
  • Provide supervision where relevant.
  • Provide external and internal assurance reporting.
  • Provide support to carers to provide support.
  • Organsing wellbeing events for staff.
  • Providing support for staff following incidents and ensuring staff are feeling     support in their roles.
  • Attending staff meetings to providing guidance and support to ward managers.

You are/able:

  • Identify own training and development needs and undertake appropriate training/education as required.
  • Participate in an annual individual performance review process where objectives will be agreed, performance monitored and personal development needs discussed.
  • To attend all statutory and mandatory training as and when required to do so.
  • Adhere to all Policies and Procedures as applicable.
