The Promoting Independent Living Service (PILS) is a CQC Registered Service that supports citizens with learning disabilities to live independently within their own homes.

You will be one of 2 Senior Support Assistants in a complex of 10 flats and provide line management to a team of Support Assistants.
Staff work together to develop Service Users' life skills enabling them to navigate all the challenges of living independently, with guidance, support, advice, and sometimes drawing on their own experiences.
The rewards of seeing Service Users achieve are so uplifting to all involved and are a great motivation for the days that might not go to plan.
As well as providing support to our Service Users you will provide line management support to your team holding regular meetings and supervision sessions with them.
Your good rota management skills will ensure that the tenancy is adequately staffed at all times,
You will be required to attend Service User Reviews, complete support plans, positive handling plans, audits, and Health & Safety checks at the properties.
The service cover is required 24/7, shift work will be required. These can be a 7 am or 8 am start for an early shift. 2 pm – 4 pm if on a late shift finishing at 10 pm or 11 pm if on a sleep-in, meaning that you will sleep at the property over- night and begin work the following morning.
You will work a 6-week rolling rota pattern, including bank holidays, weekends, and sleeping-in shifts. You will have several identified office days where you can arrange for your supervision to be completed. These are at our office in Dover Street and are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with service users, supporting them in the planning of goals and living as independently as possible, while leading a team of Support Assistants to achieve positive goals for our Service Users
