This is a fixed term contract for 18 months.

Apprenticeship rates for this post are dependent on age. See below for the applicable rates: 

Level 3 Apprenticeship Rates
Under 18 years £12,925 per annum
18-20 years £17,170 per annum
23+ years £22,359 per annum

You will play your part as a teaching assistant in developing young peoples aspirations and helping them to achieve.

You will have access to opportunities to attend a wide range of training and development sessions and on successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will have access to apply for permanent roles within the college and wider group.

What You Will Do
  • You will work  within the School of Social Sciences supporting teachers and students at college to achieve their  Maths and English qualifications as well as vocational qualifications in Health, Science and Social Care.
  • You will support student progress, monitor attendance, promote and role-model positive values and relationships. 
  • You will provide feedback to teachers on learner progress and support needs.
  • You will prepare the classroom and work under the direction of the teacher to support and enhance learning and assessment. 
  • You will help teachers with the organisation and invigilation of assessment and exams, revising for exams, maintaining the learning environment, and assist where needed within the department.
About You
  • You will hold a level 3 Advanced level qualification or a degree in a relevant subject, such as Health and Social Care, Science, Psychology, English, Maths  etc and want to pursue a career in the education sector working with young people aged primarily 16 to 18 years.
  • You will hold GCSEs in both Maths and English at grade 4 plus ( grade C)
  • You will be kind and empathic and show understanding of how to build supportive working relationships with students and staff.
  • You will be committed to study and complete the requirements of the apprenticeship within the timeframe set
