No two days are the same. Working in the Empty Homes Team, the role is varied and you will need to demonstrate a wide range of trade skills in addition to a primary trade. You will take pride in the repairs and maintenance of domestic void properties to a high-quality standard. This could include using your carpentry, plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating and plastering skills to maintain and repair the properties. You may also fit kitchen and bathrooms and some exterior works, such as fencing, to suit the programme of works.

This role covers predominantly the Cotswolds area and will therefore involve travel. You’ll need to have a full, clean driving licence, willing to work 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role, we will complete a DBS check for the successful applicant.

We want someone who:

  • Is a genuine all-rounder with strong practical skills and first-hand knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and plastering trades
  • Has plenty of flexibility, as well as a proven ability to diagnose, undertake and complete repairs to high levels of quality and customer satisfaction
  • Is seen as a people person with excellent customer service skills
  • Feels comfortable working within a social housing environment
  • Has an outstanding work ethic and the drive to complete work to an excellent standard without close supervision.


Your previous experience may be in roles as a carpenter, plumber, plasterer, kitchen fitter or bathroom fitter, amongst others in the building trade or self-employed.
