As our Transport Planner you will provide full support to your line manager delivering excellent customer service ensuring all transport movements are completed efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies / procedures / processes and customer requirements. 

You will assist in the collation of transport related management data. Strive to ensure all transport movements are undertaken in the most cost effective manner working closely with all members of the commercial, technical & sales teams.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Arranging the delivery and collections of equipment from customer sites and organise transfer between depots
  • Cost control –  you will be required to suggest and implement efficiencies
  • Liaising with all customers, to include the hire desk and operations teams to ensure accurate and prompt deliveries and collections
  • Effective customer service skills and carrying out courtesy calls where required 
  • Ensuring records are accurately maintained and processing purchase orders and inter depot transfers on time 
  • Planning of transport movements

What We’re Looking For 

  • Good geographical knowledge of region/UK essential. Geographical knowledge of Europe desirable.
  • Ability to interpret digital tachographs advantageous.
  • Knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry advantageous
  • Understanding  of the EU working time directive.
  • Knowledge of LGV service regimes advantageous.
  • Experience of transport compliance/accreditation schemes, i.e. Crossrail, TFL, FORS, etc., advantageous.
  • Knowledge of driver CPC requirements advantageous.
  • Knowledge of G42 or other similar hire rental asset management systems advantageous
  • Knowledge of transport fleet management/scheduling software advantageous.
  • Excellent telephone manner essential
