Human Resource Adviser

Location: Cheshire, SK9

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 per annum

We are looking to recruit two Human Resource Advisers as part of the restructure of our people team         

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is recently CIPD Level 5 qualified

Reporting to the HR Business Partners to provide expert HR advice, guidance and support to Managers on People issues, such as employee relations, policy and process and the delivery of key projects (absence management and upskilling of Managers), in line with employment law and HR best practice.

You will also be responsible for helping managers to implement HR policies and procedures, including absence management. 

The ideal candidate will display high standards of customer service and hold excellent communication skills both written and oral, having a keen eye for detail. It is essential that they are IT literate with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise their own workload in line with the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will also have a positive attitude, use initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision.

Experience of working within a HR function and using SelectHR software, would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Job Role:

  • Provide managers and employees with guidance on the application of human resources policies and procedures
  • Provide professional advice and support to managers dealing with employment issues
  • Advise line managers on the recording and management of sickness in line with the policy
  • Assist the HR Business Partners in the development of appropriate standards and systems for measurement of HR related activities
  • Design and deliver training programmes on HR related topics and practices
  • Provide employment related advice for employees
  • Actively contribute to successful team working of the people function

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be qualified to degree level or equivalent;
  • Have a Level 5 CIPD qualification with active CIPD membership;
  • Be experienced in human resources as a generalist or an employee relations setting;
  • Be experienced in handling a range of employee relations issues and successfully managing risk;
  • Have up to date knowledge of employment law;
  • Understand how to implement and apply HR policies and procedures;
  • Be able to analyse and interpret data to make recommendations and inform actions;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward way;
  • Have exceptional time management and administrative skills;
  • The ability to develop credibility and trust, fostering positive working relationships  with managers and key stakeholders;
  • Comfortable working with a variety of IT systems (competence with Word and Excel are essential) and the ability to learn new IT packages and with a good understanding of HR systems;
