What you’ll be doing
As our Housekeeping Assistant you are a key part of our hospitality team and will play an integral part in ensuring our learning location is clean and tidy for our visitors.
Your day to day will involve routine cleaning of our centre, including all bedrooms; corridors; public areas; staff areas; classrooms; bathroom, shower, and toilet facilities.
It is important that you have high attention to detail, to be able to recognise areas requiring additional cleaning and where necessary reporting these to your manager.
This role also ensures our laundry is completed in a timely manner, which involves operating machines and pressing (after appropriate training).

Where you’ll be based
Field Studies Council Slapton is located within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to Field Sites in Dartmoor National Park. We maintain two residential centres (Slapton Ley and Start Bay) in the coastal village of Slapton, as well as Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve.
Start Bay is very popular with primary schools and self-catering, providing exclusive use for groups of up to 40 visitors. Whereas Slapton Ley is very popular with larger GCSE, A Level and University groups and can accommodate up to 120 visitors.
Who we’re looking for
You will have some previous customer service experience. Cleaning and/or hospitality experience would be advantageous but is not essential. It is more important to us that you have:
