Would you like to explore a rewarding career experience as a Head of Occupational Therapy?
About Us
Cygnet was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales.
Your Role
Service Line: Neuro-Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Summary of the site:
Cygnet Brunel in Bristol offers an extensive Neuropsychiatric treatment, care and rehabilitation pathway which is unique in its ability to provide a dedicated pathway to meet the complex needs of service users within their care.
The individually designed wards facilitate a clear and distinctive care and treatment pathway for those affected by an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI); where behaviours that challenge are the overarching impairment to recovery and rehabilitation.
Cygnet Brunel has 4 wards and a total of 32 patients. More detail about the wards and pathway can be found here: https://www.cygnetgroup.com/locations/cygnet-brunel/
Our rehabilitative pathway is led by an all-encompassing in-house clinical and medical team – ensuring person-centred outcomes are maximised through interdisciplinary working which places the individual at the heart of their discharge planning. The team includes speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, neuro-psychiatry and support staff.
You will be responsible for holding a clinical caseload on two wards and providing innovative leadership to the team of 2 assistants and a senior occupational therapist. Working closely with other Heads of Department, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on shared goals and service development opportunities.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors, we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence-based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice by participating in service model development and utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
