Our Graduate Apprenticeship offers a structured training programme combining theoretical learning with work based learning. At the end of the programme, you will achieve a BA (Hons) Degree in Accountancy from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. The BA (Hons) Accountancy degree can lead to ACCA professional qualification after year 5.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge whilst working under the mentorship of an experienced and qualified Finance team. You will work as an Accounts Assistant focussed on accounting, reporting and analysis whilst demonstrating an enthusiasm and willingness to learn in order to achieve a high degree of competence. You will gain experience in many aspects of Accountancy.
Key Responsibilities
You will be required to attend University on all scheduled dates of the programme.
You will complete all the set modules within each specific year of the 4/5 year graduate apprenticeship. The modules are assessed on:
- University blended learning and assessment
- Work Based Learning – the gathering and recording of a wide range of work experience you will undertake in your role
In addition to work based learning you will hold the position of Accounts Assistant and will hold the following roles and responsibilities:
- Financial reporting
- Revenue and cost accounting
- Customer reporting
- Invoicing analysis and control
- Compliance at all times with Airpac QHSE regulations
This role will work closely with the divisional finance team; the Harrogate based shared service finance team and Customers. Extensive training will be provided in our financial systems. This role will interact with many stakeholders (across Airpac and the wider Vp plc organisation) including senior management and our global regional teams.
We are looking for someone who has an enthusiasm for reporting and analysis, has excellent communication skills and who has strong attention to detail.
What We're Looking For
- Obtain a minimum 4 Highers BBBB (or equivalent qualifications)
- Highers / or Nat 5s including English, Maths, Business Management and / or Accountancy, is desirable but not essential
- Have effective communication skills
- This role will involve the use of Tableau and our in-house accounting system. Prior knowledge of these applications is unlikely and as such is not mandatory. An interest in financial reporting and analysis is preferred and beneficial.
- Enjoys analysing numbers and other business related data and enjoys presenting data in different visual formats including charts and graphs
- Excellent Communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is preferred
