Main Responsibilities

The priorities for 2024/2025 are to progress a number of exciting projects falling under our Energy Management System.  Potential areas the placement student will be focusing on include:

1)    Analysing energy data using Energy Management Software: Landmarc has recently installed a piece of energy management software used to track energy and water consumption. The focus of this project will be to fully utilise the capability of the software, including using it to set baselines, identify areas of unusual consumption, set up dashboards, identify and resolve any gaps in data and provide support to colleagues using the system.

2)    Support in the delivery of Utility Management Plans (product) across 133 locations in the UK. This includes the analysis of energy and utility data, benchmarking against similar locations and industry best practice –and making costed recommendations assisting a number of metrics in kwh, carbon and water/sewage.

3)    Support development of Energy Management Teams: the focus of the project will be to join regular Energy Management Team meetings, which take place across all 6 geographical regions as well as Contract Support Office. The placement student will attend all meetings and share ideas across different teams, as well as contribute their own ideas in relation to energy saving and efficiency. They will support by ensuring outputs of the Energy Management Teams meet the requirements of ISO 50001.

4)    Monitor travel data and deliver annual Travel Survey: Landmarc monitors its travel data in order to calculate its carbon footprint from business travel. The placement student will carry out regular reporting of travel data, gathering data from various sources including fuel card data, expense reports and regional data. They will also be responsible for managing Landmarc’s annual travel survey; updating the survey for the current year, writing communications to encourage participation, analysing the results and presenting these back to the business.

5)    Undertaking ISO 50001 internal audits in regions and supporting/attending external certification audits on compliance. (Full external training and support in this area will be provided.)

The Ideal Candidate

The range of projects within the Sustainability department represents an excellent opportunity for students to develop both their energy management skills as well as their wider skill set.
