Up to £42,000 Per Year + Cambian Benefits

37.5 hours per week, Term Time Only

We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEND Teacher to join this thriving School. The successful candidate will have the exciting role of supporting the expansion of our enhanced provision, which provides a primary style classroom for KS3 students who are unable to access the secondary model curriculum on offer to the majority of students. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, they will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring that the students and the school is successful in achieving its aims. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a qualified Teacher, while experience within a SEN specialist provision would be extremely desirable, we will consider applications from those who are currently working in a mainstream or college setting. The teacher must be able to deliver lessons based on KS2/lower KS3 curriculum, but in a project based/primary model way. Therefore they will be required to teach across subject areas, 

Training and development will be provided for the successful candidate in line with the identified needs of the school, the skills of the individual and their prospective career progression.

The School

Cambian Potterspury Lodge School supports and educates students with Autism and other associated challenges within the autistic spectrum, offering pupils aged 8–18 a differentiated, engaging and challenging curriculum

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs to motivate them
  • Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas you teach, including statutory assessment requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of teaching at Key Stage 2 and/or KS3
  • A dedicated work ethic to ensure the needs of all students
  • Is passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable
  • SEN experience
