Private Ambulance Crew Reactive Nights – Knutsford

44 hours working on a 4 on 4 off rotation (10.00pm – 10.00am)

Salary: £37,652.47 per annum.

Pure Cremation Limited is a specialist Company providing Direct Cremation funeral services. The team has more than 30 years’ experience of serving the bereaved and the people that matter to them.

The main purpose of the role is collecting the deceased from the place of containment and bringing them back to our care at our modern purpose built facility in Knutsford.  You will largely work as a two man team, but if the circumstances require it you will may be deployed as a single crew.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• To collect the deceased from their place of containment and bring them into the Company’s care in a manner which affords the deceased both respect and dignity, in line with the Company’s process and procedures and prevailing best practice.
• To Encoffin the deceased once in our care, using the best practice – Manual Handling skills and the care it deserves.
• To transport the deceased as instructed to Crematorium or other venues as applicable.
• To act as a Brand Ambassador for the Company, ensuring that all activity undertaken reflects the company in a positive way and delivers exemplary Customer Service.

Key skills requirement

• Appearance – Be smart and well presented in the provided uniform at all times, ensuring that your vehicle is presented in a similar manner.
• Communication – Have excellent listening and communication skills to be able to answer customer questions, extract appropriate information and deliver outstanding Customer care; being especially aware that some customers may be vulnerable.
• Accuracy – Must have the ability to record information in an accurate way and ensure that all process and procedures are adhered with in a methodical and compliant way.
• IT Skills -Become expert in the use of the Body Tracking Application and ensure 100% compliance with its utilisation.

The successful applicant will hold a valid full driving licence with no less than 6 points and be willing to travel across the whole of England and Wales. The role is also  subject to a DBS (Criminal Records) check.

You will be physically fit as the role is physically demanding, and involves manual handling. You will also be smart in appearance, respectful and caring of both the deceased and the families that we serve.

As an ambulance operative covering the night shift, on a 4 on 4 off rotation there may be a need to be flexible with the hours if the reactive collections determine this, for which overtime will be paid.
