As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll be working as part of the NHS system in North Kent where we deliver community services to adults across Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Swale (excludes clients with learning disabilities).
You will be based primarily in Gravesham Community Hospital and/or Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital, where we have clinics available for outpatient appointments and also cover some community inpatient wards. We also have an outpatient clinic at Sheppey Community Hospital. You will carry out home visits across Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and/or Swale.
Gravesham Community Hospital is located a short distance from St Georges Shopping Centre and is surrounded by well-known food establishments and local coffee shops which makes it a great place to be based.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, therapy and advice for patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. You will support patients to reach their potential and live their lives to the full. You will be able to experience working with patients with a wide range of diagnoses in order to develop your skills. There are opportunities to develop specialist skills in the areas where you are most passionate, for example working with patients with neurological conditions or head and neck cancer.
The Ideal CandidateYou will have a BSc Hons or recognised degree equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and be a registered member of Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
