Head of ICT

Full time, Permanent Contract

£66,833 - £74,241 per annum (Pay award pending)

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of ICT to lead the delivery of excellent digital and transformational IT services across our South Worcestershire partnership. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing IT operations, including development of new projects and transformation, infrastructure, cyber security, networking, application support, and helpdesk services. They will also have a proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams and demonstrate a track record of delivering operational and strategic results in a fast paced and complex technology and business focussed organisation.

The role will provide senior managerial and leadership support to the South Worcestershire Management Board, by overseeing the ICT Service day-to-day and playing a key role in the formulation of the ICT & Digital and Information Governance Strategies, ensuring innovation, high quality standards, and cost effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Translating the strategic visions and priorities of the 3 Councils into operational ICT plans. 
  • To monitor progress and identify exceptions and risks within the ICT service.
  • Providing clear and timely operational and strategic advice to the management board and elected Members within the partnership and actively contribute to corporate policy and strategic decision making.
  • Supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of, innovative ICT technologies, strategies, policies and procedures to support the 3 councils services.
  • Supporting other services in the identification and implementation of new and innovative ways of working by ensuring ICT teams review new ways of working
  • Developing the Councils ICT systems so that both external and internal customers have efficient systems that promote self service.

About you 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience of working in an ICT management role.
  • Significant experience of managing and implementing complex ICT systems in a large organisation with excellent working knowledge of current technology systems.
  • Significant experience of developing and implementing ICT strategies to deliver business outcomes.
  • Substantial experience of managing and meeting stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience of implementing new and innovative ways of working utilising technology.
  • Proven experience in leading, motivating and developing a team and driving a culture of change and strategic focus
  • Thorough understanding and experience of mitigating cyber security threats.
