HMP Lowdham Grange are recruiting for a Prison Custody Officer - Dog Handler.  

In this role, you will be a member of the security team as a dog handler but primarily as a PCO. You will be responsible for passive and active drugs dogs and carry out the duties of a Prison Custody Officer

HMP Lowdham Grange offers a variety of initiatives and programmes to help residents engage within the prison’s rehabilitative culture. This includes various educational and vocational qualifications, as well as a variety of opportunities for residents to learn new skills within our workshops and industries departments. We have textile, engineering and electrical workshops and can offer prisoners experience in horticulture, market gardens, cleaning, waste management and laundry services on site.

• Previous substantial experience as a PCO or dog handler
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Be able to manage and house two working drug dogs
• Experience in handling working dogs
• Computer literate, be able to work with Windows, Word and Excel
• Full drivers licence
• Positive approach to rehabilitation
