This is a fixed term post for 10 months.

 

Stoke-on-Trent Libraries are looking to appoint a temporary volunteer coordinator to engage individuals to the wide range of volunteer opportunities offered by libraries and to support the long-term retention of volunteers.

 

The Volunteer Co-ordinator will ensure the successful delivery of the CLaY: Communities, Libraries and You project, which has been funded by DCMS and Libraries Connected.

 

The main focus of this project is to: - Increase the number of volunteers working with Stoke-on-Trent Libraries - Tackle loneliness and social isolation across Stoke-on-Trent by introducing, supporting and maintaining social and support groups in libraries and community locations.

 

Experience of libraries and library services is preferred, but not essential. The successful candidate will be confident in speaking to partners, organisations, groups and individuals.

 

They will be able to support and motivate a diverse range of volunteers and participants including mixed ability groups and will need to be able to accurately communicate both verbally and in writing.

 

We are looking for someone who will be flexible and adaptable with some evening working as required.
