Your key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring deliveries of live birds, ensuring steady supply is maintained
• Checking welfare of birds as they arrive
• Reporting any welfare issues as necessary 
• Monitoring and checking work on the hanging stand
• Assisting the Senior Animal Welfare Manager in maintaining training and assessments for COC applicants

Full training will be given for all aspects of the role.

As our ideal Animal Welfare Officer you will have:

• Very good level of written and spoken English 
• Attention to detail 
• A flexible approach to work 
• Ability to use excel and word on computer
• You'll be a good communicator and be willing to learn and attend required courses for this role (unless already qualified)

Desirable Qualifications/Certificates 

• A full certificate of Competence in Welfare of Animals at Time of Killing (Desirable, not essential)
• A Poultry Welfare Officer certificate (Desirable, not essential)

UK Poultry represents more than half of 2 Sisters’ business by sales. The division employs over 8,500 people working in a chilled environment to process poultry products which are then marketed to consumers via major retailers. Our colleagues work across ten primary sites across the UK, where chickens are transported from nearby farms for processing and at our cutting sites prepared for portioning, deboning, and filleting. UK Poultry predominantly produces private-label products for major retailers. We know our proficiency is in processing, so we work with experts in other fields such as: hatching, farming, animal husbandry and transport to ensure that our supply chain is as effective and efficient as possible.
