I am recruiting MIG/TIG Welders for my client based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. This role is a Temporaty role with an immediate start but may lead to a permanent position for the right person.

To weld/fabricate component parts and assemblies to agreed standards and Eng. drawings in various materials using TIG welding equip and techniques. To work to the specified quality and time standard. To perform quality assurance and product testing as directed by Company procedures. To perform other duties as directed which are compatible with the skills, knowledge and experience stated for this job, or for which training has been provided.

Limits of Authority and Decision Making:
1. To stop production and seek advice if it is believed that product quality is compromised.
2. To stop production and seek advice if it is believed that Health and Safety is compromised.

Working Conditions:
General factory environment. Some manual handling and lifting of materials is required.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Attitudes and Behaviors:
Specialist skills: TIG welding of thin sheet metals including stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum. Familiar with general health and safety issues related to MIG and TIG welding.

Knowledge and qualifications:
Good spoken and written English and number literate. City & Guilds qualified welder. It is also desirable to have an understanding of engineering drawings

Experience, Attitudes and behaviors:
Familiar with welding and fabrication of components and pipework. Able to follow written or verbal instructions. Possessing manual dexterity and able to work as part of a team with minimal supervision.

This role is Monday to Friday 07.00-16.15 and after a coding test will move to shifts Monday to Friday 06.00-14.00/14.00-22.00 and a shift premium of £2.70 per hour

Ideally you will have your own transport due to location or you will live locally
