Swimming Instructor L1 or L2 

0 hours contract, 46 weeks per year

From £12 to £18.67 per hour dependent on experience/qualifications

Salary is Competitive dependent on Level

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified level 1 or level 2 Swimming Instructor to join our friendly and supportive swim school team.  You will join us at an exciting time as we look to develop the swim school provision. We will also consider Swimming Assistants that are looking to train and gain their Swimming Instructor level 1 or level 2 qualification through our onsite coaching program. 


With small class sizes and friendly teachers, our swim school offers a structured way to learn how to swim. The swim school offers pre-school Duckling classes from age two and a half and the ASA National Plan from age five. Swim school lessons are currently available on Saturday, Sunday mornings and Wednesday, Friday after school at Denstone College pool.


Beginning Life as a school in 1873, Denstone College is a thriving, co-educational boarding and day school, situated close to Uttoxeter. It has its own preparatory school, which has recently moved onto the main campus, providing continuous education on the same site for pupils aged from 4–18. The school is part of the Woodard Corporation, and the Head is in membership of HMC.

 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Recognised Level 1 Swim Teacher Qualification or willing to work towards 
  • Experience of teaching in and out of the water is desired
  • Duckling experience is desired
  • NPLQ is desired 
  • National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches is desired
  • Experience of 1-1 lessons, with new starters who need more individual attention is desired
  • The ability to plan and deliver safe effective lessons
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents
  • The ability to adapt lessons to all users
