The Sustainability Executive is accountable for helping the Head of Food & Sustainability drive the Healthy Planet strategic pillar, by embedding it deeply within business as usual at Bighams.

They will do this through strong data management, holding all relevant teams to account (because what gets measured gets managed). They will also do this through strong engagement, reminding every employee why the HP pillar is so important.

Main Responsibilities

Data

·       Owning the B Corp, Green Element and Impact report data dashboard, ensuring the business is on track with commitments laid down in sustainability strategy. 

·       Scope 3 – Green Element Compare your footprint tool – keeping it live and updated. 

·       Act as a bridge with EMS data, using insights to drive decision making.

·       Compliance data and voluntary commitments e.g., WRAP

 

Team & Engagement

·       Maintain strong communication channels with key delivering teams. Working collaboratively and supporting delivery as required. Inspiring others to embrace sustainable practices.

·       Co-delivering team sustainability training.

·       Provide regular drumbeat of internal comms/small updates on progress.

 

Continuous Improvement: 

·       Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and adjust as needed to achieve sustainability goals. 

 

Sustainability Reporting: 

·       Prepare sustainability reports that detail our progress toward sustainability goals and performance. These reports are often shared with internal and external stakeholders. 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Experience

Office, working as part of a team.

1-2 years minimum in work

Skills/Qualifications:

University degree or equivalent based in business or science

Interest in sustainability

Key eye for detail

Numeracy and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex sustainability concepts to diverse audiences.

Attributes:

Basic comprehension of the need to make business better, for people and the planet.

Passion and energy to make things better.

Collaborative and empathetic.
