The service you will work in….

Nia House is consists of 3 services, Nia House, Coningham and Sulgrave in the North Cluster. We support people with enduring mental health crisis aged 18+ who have housing and support needs. They may be leaving hospital, registered care, be homeless, threatened with homelessness or living in accommodation that is not meeting their identified needs. The services will be also used as a ‘step up' or ‘step down' from other supported accommodation, where appropriate.

A day in this role looks like….

As a Senior Recovery Support worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • Empower a caseload of clients to manage their health and wellbeing, maintain their independence, identify their strengths and achieve their go als and aspirations, working in partnership with our subcontractors as required in order to achieve this, under the direction of the Team Leader. 
  • To clearly articulate the aims and objectives, pathway and service model to people using the service so they can fully participate in and co-produce their support.
  • Empower service users to engage effectively in their liaisons with professionals within the community such as social work teams, housing providers, health professionals, JCP etc. 
  • Work flexibly as part of a team to ensure service coverage and that contractual obligations are met. 
  • Develop co-produced group activities, peer support networks and other community-based approaches to empowering service users to achieve their goals and aspirations and to encourage service users to access these opportunities. 
  • Actively monitor the health, wellbeing, safety and security of the service and its users ensuring all concerns are followed up promptly and in line with procedures. 
  • Ensure that administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously, and that confidentiality is appropriately maintained.
  • Assist the manager to manage health and safety, repairs and maintenance of the premises. 
  • To collect rents and service charges, and manage arrears proactively by follow policy, protocol and procedure to support residents to maintain their tenancy and develop independent living skills by paying service charges & rent. 
  • Provide support the Manager to manage voids across the service. 
  • Ensure referrals, assessments and service reviews are effective and timely responded to. 
  • Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move on process. 
  • Assist the manager to plan, negotiate and manage budgets and to make best use of property, equipment and information technology.

  • Good understanding of Health and Safety within an accommodation-based setting. 
  • Basic knowledge of housing management including maintenance & repairs.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain the safety and security of supported housing service and report maintenance requirements appropriate. 
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs. 
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills and able to produce clear letters and IT skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
