Here at Compton Care we have an exciting new opportunity to join our clinical team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist / Paramedic.

We looking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Paramedic to join our community team. The team provides a clinical advice and guidance and is the front door of the clinical service.  It is a service which aims to complement and enhance the care available from all other clinical service to those with both a rapidly deteriorating life advancing, chronic, incurable illness or those with complex symptom management that is affecting their living well.


You will be there to offer specialist knowledge, expertise and support to the patient and carer, enabling the patient to stay in their home if that is their wish by helping to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. You may facilitate an admission to Compton Care IPU if required. You will also be supporting the wider primary care MDT with advice and signposting.


Essential Criteria

  • Registered General nurse or registered paramedic with post registration experience.
  • Health Care Degree or willing to work towards
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification (V300)
  • Advanced communication course or willing to work towards
  • The ability to work alone and within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • As real passion/commitment to proving high quality palliative/end of life care.
  • A drive to use Quality Improvement models to improve the patient care and experience and to place the patient at the heart of all actions.
  • The ability to share learning with colleagues. 
  • The ability to manage and mitigate risk.
