The Role: What you will do?

The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and committed Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work within our Basildon and Brentwood Primary Care Network service as a Mental Health First Contact Practitioner (FCP). An integral member of the Primary Care Team, the FCP is responsible for assessing, signposting, and following up service users who attend at their local GP practice with mental health difficulties. You will ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time for their specific needs.

Are you a passionate RMN, can you demonstrate?

  • A current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration
  • Knowledge and experience of working with a range mental health difficulties
  • An appreciation of how mental health and physical health issues affect psychological and social functioning
  • Robust assessment skills including risk assessment and management
  • The ability to work well within teams as well as independently
  • The ability to establish and foster strong therapeutic alliances with patients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT skills - Microsoft Office/Patient record systems​

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • RMN qualification with current NMC registration
  • Ability to travel in and around the Basildon and Brentwood area when the situation allows
