As a Junior Finance Business Partner, you’ll provide accurate reporting and analysis around the Insurance cost base and high-quality input into the planning and budgeting process.

You will need to be precise, efficient, and passionate about adding value while working with precision pace and the curiosity to always ask "why". The role will offer significant room for development and growth as the finance function moves towards more meaningful and actionable reporting. You will work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner for Capex and Opex to deliver valuable insights that serve a wide range of stakeholders, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and delivering transparency on the cost base to the ILT.

Collaboration will be key in this role. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can build relationships across the business to deliver on multiple touchpoints while challenging constructively to maintain a holistic view of financial performance. You will work closely with FP&A to produce value-added analysis and insights that support both business-as-usual and strategic initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

As a Junior Finance Business Partner you will collaborate with the Senior Finance Business Partner and FP&A team to ensure the integrity and timeliness of expense and headcount reporting to Finance and the Insurance Leadership Team.

Your accountabilities will include; 

  • Maintenance and development of headcount models to support efficient, high-quality staff cost reporting
  • Timely and accurate Input into the forecast and 5-year plan process
  • Regular reviews of expense performance against targets, identifying and addressing any variances or issues, and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Active collaboration with the people and change teams on key drivers of the expense base
  • Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in the development and delivery of high-quality finance analytics to be used in board packs, executive level MI and submissions for Enterprise Finance
  • Scenario analysis and decision support to improve profitability or growth of the business
The Ideal Candidate

Our Junior Finance Business Partner you will need to be either a finalist or fully qualified ACA, ACC or CIMA and experience within a commercial environment. Having experience within the insurance industry would be desirable but not essential

Other skills and experience required include:

  • Experience in building relationships with business sectors such as Change, People, Operations and Finance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, articulately, persuasively and effectively, managing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Able to challenge processes and assumptions, with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Analytically strong with the ability to challenge, question why and think creatively
