Salary: £36,808 to £44323 Band 6 FTE OR From £45,492 for a Band 7.

Summary of the site
Gledholt Mews and Coach House is our enhanced residential service for adults with mental health needs or a personality disorder who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway and are looking for the next stage in their rehabilitation journey or for those who may be stepping up from a community placement. Located in Huddersfield just next to Greenhead College and Park, the service provides support to individuals who are ready to take responsibility for the continuation of their own rehabilitation and recovery in a safe environment, whilst living in the wider community. The service focuses on continuing practicing life skills and coping strategies. We concentrate on community based activities, the use of public transport, education and vocational therapy, job placements, work experience and development of hobbies and interests.

Gledholt is an enhanced community residential service providing outcome focused support for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs. Gledholt is operationally a nurse-led service with both service manager and head of care being qualified nurses. We have an in-house multi-disciplinary team (MDT) who support the residents in our care throughout their journey with us. The team consists of a consultant psychologist, psychology assistant, occupational therapist, occupational therapy assistant, activity co-ordinators, nurses and speech and language therapist. We are able to meet the changing needs of our residents as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported.

Clinical: You and your team will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for 30 people (over the 2 services which are next door to one another). You will work with another Occupational Therapist and an Occupational Therapy Assistant for the services. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team (on site) in a coordinated way to support each service user develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.

Leadership: You would report directly to the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist. You would also hold leadership and management responsibilities of the Occupational Therapy service, providing supervision for the Occupational Therapist and the Occupational Therapy Assistant/s. You will be required to share a leadership responsibility and consistently contribute to the site wide Occupational Therapy provision.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

We provide a significant range of in house training for all of our Occupational therapists. Opportunities include training in ‘MOHOST’, ‘Case Formulation’, ‘Sensory Modulation’ and ‘Recovery Through Activity’. We also have an in house Sensory Integration Preceptorship programme. We also offer Leadership and Management apprenticeship pathways for career development.

Under the leadership of our Occupational Therapy Directors we support over 170 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development and practice development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway within a specialist field. Through this network across all Cygnet Hospitals nationally, we ensure our occupational therapists have a voice within the company.
