Renal Engineer


Location: Field Based - covering Norwich, Ipswich, Aldeburgh and Colchester/Clacton to support wider team

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hrs p/w Monday to Friday 

(weekends as necessary, may be required to participate in on call rota as required)

Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 Plus 15% bonus and monthly Car Allowance, 27 days holiday increasing to 30 with service, pension and life cover.

Diaverum is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly organized, experienced Renal Engineer to support clinics based around the Ipswich area.  The role may require travel out of assigned regions as and when business need requires. 


This is a broad and exciting role where the post-holder will undertake and provide a comprehensive medical equipment support service in respect of Dialysis related medical equipment, Renal Water Treatment systems, dialysis therapy chairs and general medical devices.


Experience with Nipro, BBraun and Nikkiso dialysis monitors is highly desirable.


Main duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Provide preventative maintenance, acceptance testing, repair, calibration, evaluation and clinical support for Dialysis related medical equipment and Renal Water Treatment systems
  • To ensure the reliability, capability and safety of all such equipment.
  • Carry out acceptance testing and be involved in adaptation of equipment
  • To order parts and accessories for equipment as required and be responsible for the safe use of medical equipment and devices to which the parts and accessories are fitted
  • Be responsible for equipment maintenance records, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is recorded
  • To provide expertise to enable dialysis to be performed where required.
  • To provide expert advice to nursing staff and patients on the technical aspects of renal replacement therapies and related equipment for the optimization of such therapies.
  • To provide expertise in the monitoring of dialysis water quality and interpretation of results.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and management of technical support to assigned clinics.

 

The successful candidate will have experience in renal engineering and have sufficient communication skills to enable you to explain technical issues to non-technical people. Must be able to work autonomously, be solutions focused and ability to work with a busy workload.  Applicants from non dialysis backgrounds will also be considered with relevant transferable experience.

 

Due to the nature of the role and geographical spread of the clinics you must have the flexibility in your work approach to change between tasks and work across different locations. Must be able to drive with own car to get in-between sites.
