Main Responsibilities
- Overseeing safe and efficient unloading of vehicles
- Ensuring correct stock rotation and management of stock in line with food safety requirements
- Taking responsibility for all aspects of Good Manufacturing Processes for the intake, Yard and Unit 3 areas operating and encouraging clean as you go philosophy
- Ensuring product is correctly sorted in line with customer and Bulletin 15 requirements.
- Preparing stock efficiently for production
- Accurately completing excel documents, issuing non-conformances and updating the master purchase sheet.
- Ensure that all areas of training in basic food hygiene, health and safety and product quality are adhered to.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and presentation during working hours.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards in accordance with Company Policy and all relevant legislative documentation – actively encouraging health and safety awareness with all colleagues maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ensure work practices minimise the risk of product contamination.
- Send detailed end of shift report to all members of the transport team and site director.
- Being the key point of contact for drivers on arrival to site and hauliers in case of issues.
- Produce dispatch and delivery notes accurately and on time to ensure paperwork is ready when loads are ready to be dispatched.
- To undertake such other duties as may be required for the effective operation of the factory and Unit 3.
The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- To work as part of a team and effectively communicate with all colleagues and Management staff
- Knowledge of customer requirements & standards
- Thorough and Methodical approach to all tasks
- Self-motivated
- Level 2 basic food safety
- Level 2 H&S
- Comfortable working in a pressurised environment and able to meet tight deadlines
