As a Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist within HCRG Care Group, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding SEND Therapy services. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Your expertise will help improve their mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.

The role is permanent, with the opportunity to work hybrid between visits to local schools / children’s homes and completing virtual sessions from home. As you will be visiting local schools as part of your role, a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential

Main Responsibilities

You main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • To manage own delegated caseload of SEND children, including complex cases, independently across a variety of predominantly educational settings.
  • To work with parents/carers, education colleagues, the multidisciplinary team and the wider children’s workforce to provide a co-ordinated approach to children’s Physiotherapy needs, as part of their EHCP provision.
  • To assess for, recommend and source specialist equipment, as appropriate. 
  • To contribute to the EHCP process, including annual reviews, advising and updating schools, parents/carers and the SEND Therapies service manager accordingly.
  • To support the SEND manager and SEND service to meet key performance targets and to contribute to service development.
  • To work in partnership with other agencies in order to meet local and national objectives as agreed with commissioners and SEND Therapies Manager.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Is registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision to other Physiotherapists and assistants
  • Has evidence of Post graduate training/or equivalent experience relevant to speciality such as:
    • Child Development
    • Specialist courses/ study on conditions that affect child development, autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD, neurodevelopment conditions, sensory needs.
  • Car driver with own car, insured for business use.
