Nest Education are working with this large Primary School based in Leyland and require a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD) and has additional associated needs. The school is an excellent provision with a great reputation in the area. The team are highly supportive and you will be working closely with other Teaching Assistants, class teachers and the SENCO to ensure the needs of all pupils are met.

For this role you will ideally have a Teaching Assistant qualification (L1-L4) or equivalent although the school will consider candidates without this qualification providing you have experience working with children or young people with Autism (ASD), Asperger’s, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or additional needs and have a kind, caring and positive attitude.

In Detail you will be responsible for:

Involve providing one-on-one support as a Teaching Assistant
Assisting with reading and writing
Helping with behaviour management and follow the behaviour policy and reward systems in place
Ensuring students have access to necessary resources
Adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student
Providing pastoral support to the children if required and being a liaison with pastoral manager
