Teaching Assistant - 121

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN)? Do you have experience working with children on a 121 basis and ideally with Autism (ASD)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at a school close to the centre of Chorley.

Job Description:

Working in the role of 121 Teaching Assistant in this supportive and friendly 2 form entry primary school, you will play an essential role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of a student in a with Autism.

Your primary day to day duties as a Teaching Assistant in this school will include:

* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure the child's needs are met on a day to day basis and lessons are supported in line with the child's IEP.
* Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for the child, and reinforcing positive behaviours.
* Liaising with the class teacher to implement and develop behaviour strategies and rewards systems for the child.
* Feeding information back to the class teacher and planning for the following day.
* Ensuring the safety of all students in the classroom and assisting when needed.
* Contributing to the overall development and well-being of our school community and helping when required.

Experience & Qualifications:

* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Health & Social qualification. (desired but not essential)
* Have previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational or care setting.
* A strong understanding of special educational needs and ideally Autism (ASD/ASC)
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting the diverse needs of our students.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
