Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Wigan

At Nest Education, we are seeking an individual that matches one of the statements above to work with a Primary School based in the Wigan area. Here you will be working as a Teaching Assistant providing in-classroom support to a student in a Year 2 class who has Autism and is being supported on a 1:1 basis in the classroom.

The purpose of the role is to build a relationship with the child as quickly as possible to help them access their learning and ensure their Individual Education Plan (IEP) is followed. You will also be supported by one other Teaching Assistant and the Class Teacher as you go through core subjects such as Numeracy, Literacy and topics from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3.30/4pm.

To achieve this, you will be providing the following:

You will provide a safe environment for the children to learn AND grow
You will have a good level of Maths and English and feel confident enough to support this in KS1.
You will be caring, and naturally supportive
You must have an Enhanced DBS or be willing to complete one
You will work closely with the other Teaching Assistants and Teachers of the school to uphold the standards set
You will be a positive and motivational figure, able to listen and show care
You must be able to commit on a long term ongoing basis to maintain consistency for the students

£74.00 - £120.00 Per Day - Depending on Experience
