1) A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the outstanding motor vehicle department at West Lancashire College. Based in the industry equipped ACE centre at West Lancashire college, you would be working in a vibrant and innovative educational environment where staff benefit from ongoing professional development, support and hybrid working (role allowing).

Duties of the Motor Vehicle Lecturer include -

Teach and assess both theoretical and practical sessions on a range of Light Vehicle IMI courses from level 1 to level 3.
Undertake all necessary planning, preparation, and assessment to ensure outstanding outcomes.
Undertake the necessary administrative tasks associated with the role including internal quality assurance.
Work with other internal staff including English and maths lecturers to ensure full completion of all aspects of the learners Study Program.
Work with external contacts to ensure successful completion of work experience.
2) Essential criteria for the candidate -

Previous experience of teaching or training in the automotive sector. However, we would also welcome applications from anyone wanting to progress from industry to teaching.
Previous experience of working within the automotive sector as a light vehicle technician.
Hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards.
Hold a level 3 professional automotive qualification. For example, IMI Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
Hold an assessor qualification or be willing to work towards.
Hold and Internal Quality Assurance qualification or be willing to work towards.
