As the Project Manager in the Strategic Corporate Property team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of new builds, reconfiguration, and refurbishment projects across a range of Corporate assets.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in project management in a variety of construction and property related projects, demonstrating effective project management, meeting statutory requirements and budgetary control.  The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of public sector funding opportunities and experience of applying for such funding.

The role will be responsible for the project process from initiation to delivery and handover.  You will work with service areas and other stakeholders to define project outcomes and scope, develop business cases, monitor project programmes and budgets.  In addition, the role will entail working with professional service team on tenders, evaluating bids and proposals received, ensuring projects deliver strategic benefits, energy efficiency and value for money.

The minimum requirement for this post is educated to degree level with significant experience in property project delivery. The minimum requirements are set out in the Job Description and Personal Specifications of the post.

Main Responsibilities
  • Have responsibility for planning, managing, and monitoring a range of projects.
  • Experience of monitoring and managing project budgets.
  • Have a good standard of technical and property expertise.
  • Have responsibility for project development including completion of business cases, commissioning feasibilities and option appraisals, support stakeholder engagement, risk management, quality and assurance, and resource management.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Relevant professional degree or equivalent level qualification or experience.
  • Demonstratable experience in managing projects, budgets, performance, and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, national performance standards and statutory requirements as they relate to capital building projects.
  • Experience of discharging client responsibilities as duty holder in discharging CDM 2015 regulation.
  • Have an awareness of local authority governance and financial regulations.
  • Have experience of working closely with architectural services colleagues to ensure designs are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant legislation.
  • As several of the County Councils buildings are historic and listed the ideal candidate would have an understanding of what constraints are applied to these buildings.
