Abicare Services Ltd is a growing Domiciliary Care company operating throughout the South of England/Wales.  Due to the continued growth of the business, an opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to be part of the busy finance team. The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in keeping Abicare’s financial reporting, financial planning, treasury management, debt financing and budget management organised. They manage a team of Finance Coordinators who administer accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and management reporting of Abicare.  The position will involve you working closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the integrity of the finance systems and to continue to develop reporting capabilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Managing all transactional accounting operations including managing the finance department staff, a team of four finance coordinators
  • Daily management of cash flow
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of the monthly management accounts, annual budget, financial forecasts and variance analysis reports
  • Supporting the preparation and audit of external statutory reporting
  • Developing and supporting month-end and year-end close procedures
  • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and sector reporting requirements
  • Developing business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls including developments to the Sage 200 finance system and the enterprise care management systems
  • Liaising with funding partners to ensure the integrity of cash flow
  • Deputising for the Chief Financial Officer in their absence and assisting with the presentation of financial reports to the management board and other stakeholders 

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will ideally possess the following:

  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
  • Experience with general ledger and payroll functions, month end and year end close procedures
  • Experience in accounting software systems preferably experience of Sage 200
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in P+L and balance sheet management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
