An exciting opportunity for a Production Manager has risen. The successful candidate will help specify, procure and manage the delivery of all production and technical services for event and exhibition projects. Working within the context of the business to ensure the creative vision becomes a reality this role is pivotal in successful event delivery. 

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  • Provide production, technical and commercial input and advice to support pitch teams in the feasibility and delivery of tender proposals 
  • Ensure tender responses are developed and submitted within feasible delivery parameters 
  • Attending client meetings to take briefs and to present budgets and production related information as required 
  • Creating project timelines, on site schedules, transport schedules and cash flow forecasts  
  • Overseeing the creation and amends for design concepts, technical drawings and graphic specification documents 
  • Providing support and advice to Junior members of the Production team. 
  • Produce detailed and accurate project budgets, working closely with the project management and account teams to ensure budgets are fit for client consumption 
  • Identifying lessons learned from projects and either feeding back to staff involved, implementing improvements or making recommendations to the Head of Production 
  • Negotiating best value from suppliers, based on industry knowledge and experience 
  • Working collaboratively with the team to define payment schedules based on work completed, minimising Identity’s exposure to risk 
  • Working with the wider team to share industry knowledge and experience. 
  • Providing in-office and on-site support with Junior PMs 
  • Creating, maintaining and managing the H&S plan for projects under the Production Managers remit, including induction of all staff and suppliers, reporting during live phase and inputting into post project debriefs to aid continuous improvement 

Skills and Experience:
Essential:

  • Previous experience of delivering events and exhibitions with an understanding of the commercial aspects of projects 
  • Have experience working within an events agency 
  • Highly and confidently experienced across at least one of the major delivery sectors (exhibitions, events, conference, green field, fixed facility, road shows, government projects) 
  • Confident with technical, logistical and scenic / manufacturing requirements and solutions required for event delivery 
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely, both internally and to client stakeholder groups 
  • Good level of computer literacy, particularly regarding databases, CAD and Microsoft applications 
  • Working knowledge and practical experience of event H&S process. Able to write relevant H&S plans and RAMS. Understands legislation and legal implications of project decisions. Confident in challenging suppliers, clients and management on H&S breaches and / or bad practice 
  • Confident with a working understanding of technical production disciplines, best practice and standards for the events and exhibition environment. 
  • Awareness of digital workflows and digital / physical integration 
  • Calm and collected under pressure situations  
  • Full UK Driving Licence 

Desirable: 

  • Experience of delivering events and exhibitions in an Agency environment, ideally with projects up to £500k 
  • Multi sector experience would be an advantage
