As a Finance Assistant at Sodexo based at Manchester University Hospital you will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Finance Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of the purchase side of our finance function. Your responsibilities will also involve various reporting tasks and proactively resolving any supplier queries.

What You’ll Do

• Raise purchase orders to facilitate efficient procurement processes.
• Create Project Management Orders (PMOs) for all projects and work streams.
• Proactively follow up with suppliers to obtain invoices and resolve any queries that may arise.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure timely goods receipting and accurate order updates.
• Send out weekly reports on pending orders, highlighting items that require immediate attention.
• Update labour trackers and actively engage with teams to ensure prompt returns.
• Run and monitor the GRNI register, advising where actions are needed.
• Assist the Commercial Finance Manager in ensuring all necessary updates are completed on time for month-end activities.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience working in a finance department 
• Familiarity with SAP would be desirable but not essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various departments.
