We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior HSE professional to join the team as Director of Health and Safety. Firstly you will operate as the UK&I lead for the Compass Food Safety Management System and Primary Authority liaison to develop & direct our food safety & allergen strategy across all sectors. You will provide strategic direction to sector leadership teams on implementation of risk reduction, safety culture and compliance programmes within the B&I sector. Lastly you'll manage the North HSE team resource enabling effective deployment across the business where support and guidance is needed.

• You will lead the development and implementation of Compass UK&I health and safety strategies, policies and action plans ensuring alignment to the Compass Group safety strategy.
• To lead the development, implementation and promotion of policies for food safety and allergen management that ensure Compass UK&I complies with its respective legal obligations in these areas.
• To provide professional, accessible and business-focussed advice to the B&I Sector senior management on meeting their corporate and individual responsibilities across health & safety, environmental and food safety law.
• Collaborate with others across the UK&I HSE team to develop strategies, targets and initiatives designed to reduce incident rates and create a safe and healthy working environment.
• To lead the development, implementation and monitoring of an ongoing programme of learning and development to ensure an appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of health & safety, food safety, and allergen policies and procedures are understood across the business.
• Represent Compass UK&I across external food safety working groups and lobbying bodies in order to influence new legislation and guidance.

• Chartered Member of IOSH working towards in CPD cycle
• NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent Qualification  
• Level 4 Food Safety Qualification or equivalent
• Experience managing compliance at a senior level within the food sector
• Strong computer / web skills
• Experience of working within multi-site operators and operations
• Senior stake holder management experience
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, including the ability to write reports
• Proven experience working with to ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
