We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Agent to join Colas Ltd working on our new Cheshire West & Chester Term Maintenance contract.

Main Responsibilities

The Site Agent will be responsible for the planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting of Highways Schemes to meet strategic objectives and to ensure schemes are delivered safely, within budget and on time. Key Client expectations must be managed, whilst ensuring the compliance with all quality procedures and safe working practices. You will undertake all works to the highest possible Health, Safety, and environmental standards.  

You will be working on a recently won Highways Term Maintenance Contract with all Highway service areas (Reactive Maintenance / Planned Schemes / Structures) ensuring the safe, timely delivery, monitoring and reporting to the delivery team and Clients on project delivery. You will provide guidance to ensure effective ownership, analysis, and management of project requirements. You will work with the Term Maintenance Contractors Operations Manager to identify project requirements and delivery timelines. You will provide detailed project updates to the Client on delivery progress of the various project streams and to work with the Client to agree various strategies. You will be responsible in developing detailed project plans to provide assurances to clients and management on adequate management interventions and revising based on changing needs and requirements.  

The Ideal Candidate

The perfect candidate will need to demonstrate they have the drive and ambition to fulfil the roles responsibilities and carry out the duties in a safe and efficient manner. You will need to be self-motivated and a good team player. You will demonstrate and deploy good contractual and commercial awareness, have knowledge of business management systems, be a strong leader, plan and be organised. Have people management skills, a knowledge of business management systems, be able to produce risk assessments and accompanying method statements, maintain a working Construction Phase Health & Safety plan in accordance with all CDM requirements. Have good communication and problem-solving skills and be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications:

 

  • Industry experience in a similar or equivalent role 
  • Suitable construction qualifications and training course attendance 
  • Full clean driving licence 
  • Hold a high level of experience in highway construction and maintenance 
  • CSCS Professionally Qualified 
  • SSSTS / SMSTS / IOSH (Safety Related Qualification)
