The Project Manager in the commercial team at Saga Media is a critical delivery role.

Can you make things happen?  Will you ensure tight deadlines are met?

 

Our Commercial Project Manager – Media, will lead the delivery of all our sales projects across Saga Media’s website - Exceptional.com, our Newsletter and our print and digital magazine.

You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of execution at every stage of the project life cycle from conception to completion. Always delivering exceptional experiences for our clients / partners and our audiences.

 

This newly created role in a fast-growing media team is essential to support our market journey and growth plans. In fact, Saga Media aims to become the No.1 brand globally for the fast growing over 50s market, providing a space where they feel seen, trusted, and celebrated.

 

Your role will be to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of all our customers and partners

campaigns in a range of online and offline formats, making sure we deliver best in class experiences for both our partners and just as importantly our readers.

 

You will be the liaison between all internal and external stakeholders and delivery teams, from our clients to our sales, editorial, product and audience teams.

The Commercial Delivery team and strategy at Saga Media will be built in your image, and you will be responsible for building out the team, making sure we have the right resource in place to meet the needs of a fast-growing business unit.

 

You will make sure that all commercial activations meet our clients’ expectations and are delivered to the highest possible standard, in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will also support the commercial sales team in devising effective and compelling responses to client briefs as well as developing new products and commercial opportunities to take to market.

 

** Remote/home working ** Saga work a hybrid approach requiring some team days in our London office. You will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance to London to undertake this role. Travel for office days when required are fully expensed.

Main Responsibilities

As the Commercial Project Manager – Media, you will work closely with the CRO; Chief Revenue Officer of Saga Media and our Commercial & Trading Director to ensure that all commercial projects are delivered to the highest possible standard, on-time and within budget.

Your key areas of responsibility will be;

  • The full management of media production project plans. You will oversee a matrix of teams across creatives, agency, content, producers ensuring timelines and budgets are met for our clients.
  • To work closely with the Commercial Sales team to understand client needs and ensure we are pitching the right products to achieve their business goals.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, team members, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that stakeholders are informed and up to date on project progress, any changes or challenges along the way.
  • To analyse all project data and report on performance towards KPI’s. Deliver insight beyond ‘the numbers’, identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future projects.
The Ideal Candidate

To join us as the Commercial Project Manager – Media, you will need to have experience managing commercial projects both online and in print within a publishing environment. Including but not limited to; sponsored content, commercial video, email sponsorship, paid social, print advertising, print insertions. You will also need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;

  • Have a strong understanding of the content monetisation.
  • Great people skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Superb organisation skills.
  • 5+ years' experience managing commercial projects online.
  • Experience in managing print campaigns desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working withing a publishing environment.
  • Experience working alongside commercial, editorial and product teams.
  • Pitch creation and post campaign reporting.
  • Basic design skills (in-design, photoshop or similar) desirable not essential.
