Join us on an incredibly exciting journey of digital growth and development across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Help us to draw on our strong sense of community and international reputation to further enhance the county as a wonderful place for our residents to call home and for our businesses to thrive. With exciting new developments and high-profile projects underway, our county is going through a period of tremendous growth and change. As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, there has never been a more important time for Cambridgeshire to be a truly connected county.
Connecting Cambridgeshire is an exciting programme supporting the delivery of digital connectivity for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. This includes gigabit broadband, improving mobile and public access Wifi coverage and delivering innovative technology projects to tackle city and town transport and environmental challenges, supporting technological innovation and business growth. The Connecting Cambridgeshire Digital Connectivity Strategy 2021-2025 will ensure that Cambridgeshire and Peterborough has the leading-edge digital connectivity infrastructure needed for local businesses to thrive and that no communities are left behind
The Covid-19 pandemic dramatically accelerated reliance on digital connectivity in almost every aspect of 21st Century living. At a time when access to healthcare, jobs, education and training have all become highly dependent on digital connectivity, it has also highlighted the “digital divide”. It means that families and individuals without access to connectivity are effectively excluded from the benefits of economic growth, health inequalities are exacerbated, and children’s life chances are damaged. These issues are being amplified by the current cost of living crisis, further exacerbating digital inequality and impacting on those most deprived and vulnerable in our communities
We are looking for someone with a passion for Digital Inclusion who goes above and beyond and can provide leadership and foster close working across the public, voluntary and private sectors. You must have a real ability to engage and communicate with communities, key partners and political stakeholders.
The Connecting Cambridgeshire team is based at Cambridgeshire County Council, where we are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, the organisation and our communities.
Online selection interviews will take place on Friday 28th April (approx 30 minutes) followed by more in depth face-to-face interviews for successful candidates in central Cambridge on Wednesday 3rd May.
This is a fixed term post until March 2025.
Secondments and part-time working applications are also welcomed.
