Are you interested in working on important issues such as zero carbon, rail reform and the value of investment?
We are looking to recruit a Policy Executive in an exciting role, who will work with stakeholders across Parliament & Government. Working on major priorities facing the railway industry, this is a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in public policy and public affairs.
Reporting to the Policy Director and team, your main responsibilities include:
• Supporting high profile policy events – RIA member Interest Groups, Strategic Meetings, workshops and speaker events – helping to set agendas, secure speakers, promote meetings, produce meeting notes and provide other administrative support.
• Developing policy positions on a range of topics, particularly around infrastructure investment, rail reform and supply chain management. Activity may include for example, drafting policy papers from primary research or commissioning external research.
• Representing RIA at external events, such as meetings with the Department for Transport and Network Rail, advocating on RIA’s behalf.
• Preparing responses to various industry consultations – preparing initial drafts and canvassing input from members and experts.
You must be a graduate who is a strategic thinker, be politically aware and have strong written and oral communication skills. Ideally, you will already be in a similar role and have the ability to develop knowledge of trade policy.
