We are recruiting for the position of Assistant Transport Planner for our client based out of Dewsbury.
The role would suit someone who has transport office experience looking to progress to transport planner.
This position is for a well established land, air and sea logistics operator. This is a chance to further your career with a company prepared to meet the challenges of the haulage world through digital technology, forward thinking & sustainability.

The Role
• Optimise the routing and planning of HGV drivers and vehicles in terms of costs and delivery/collection times. Full support and training given
• Scheduling and plan day to day customer deliveries and collections
• To work with existing customers through telephone & digital comms. to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• To work with and communicate to colleagues and other transport planning depts to assist with smooth running of operation.
• To ensure computer and administration systems are current and up to date
• Working within all legal and regulatory bodies to offer a safe and complaint operation.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Full training and support given, with individual development plans to assist with driving your career forward.


The Ideal Candidate
• Understanding of transport office environment and roles within it.
• The ideal candidate will have 1 years + transport office experience.
• Confident IT skills, Exel/Word.
• Ability to multi task in a time efficient and professional manner.
• Team player, who gets involved with the day-to-day operational challenges for desired end results.
• Self motivated, adaptable and professional attitude.
