As a Logistics Support Operative at Sodexo at Merville Barracks, Colchester, Circular Road South, Colchester you’ll be responsible for maintaining the logistical support of site, no two days will be the same! You'll ensure requested tasks by the client are completed within a timely manner whilst maintaining great customer service. This role is client facing, and you'll interact with our Armed forces personnel every day, improving quality of life for all that you meet. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you’ll do:

  • Support the Warehouse Storekeepers on a daily basis
  • Manual handling loads from vehicles or within the warehouses detailed by Line Manager within the area of responsibility
  • Ensure serviceability of Defence Accommodation Stores (DAS) furniture.
  • Working out of Merville Barracks delivering furniture to Wattisham, Woodbridge, Wethersfield and Colchester
  • To operate forklift (once trained)
  • To Operate pallet trucks (once trained)
  • Drive Sodexo vehicles and comply with Sodexo’s driving policy and regulations.
  • To check vehicles daily and complete daily vehicle paperwork, maintain vehicle serviceability, all damages are reported to the Line Manager and the vehicle is to be kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To deliver service excellence and outstanding customer service.

What you bring:

  • People Friendly, Customer service skills are essential
  • Held a full UK Driving license for 2 years or more
  • Must be over 25 years of age to driver company vehicle
  • Able to work within a team environment
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable

Package Description
  • 37 hours per week
  • £9.50 per hour
  • Monday-Thursday 8am - 4pm & Friday 8am - 3.30pm
  • Free, secure parking on site
  • Use of site facilities (Diners & Gym)
